WE ARE IN A CLIMATE EMERGENCY
Scientists have a moral obligation to clearly warn humanity of any catastrophic threat and to “tell it like it is.” On the basis of this obligation,
We declare, with more than 11,000 scientist signatories from around the world, clearly and unequivocally that planet Earth is facing a climate emergency (see World Scientists’ Warning of a Climate Emergency, January 2020)

CITIES
The cities of Miami Beach, Miami, Surfside, Coral Gables, and Palmetto Bay have passed resolutions calling for a Climate Emergency. We are working with these cities to implement policies that reduce emissions in line with the 1.5°C target of the Paris Agreement, and with other cities in South Florida to follow in their footsteps. We are also working with the Miami-Dade County, the Miami-Dade School Board and other local governments to take similar actions.
